DEKRA strengthened the industrial testing business in China by taking over the majority of the activities of ENERTIC Engineering Technical Co. Ltd. located in Beijing. ENERTIC is a specialist focusing on the raw material and energy sectors.
With eight exhaust gas testing stations in the metropolitan region of Albuquerque, DEKRA entered the vehicle testing sector in New Mexico. This meant that DEKRA now has a presence in seven US states.
DEKRA helped to ensure that Germany had more protective masks available to protect against coronavirus. To this end, DEKRA Testing & Certification’s lab in Essen tested them against a newly created testing principle. This enabled more protective masks to gain the required CE mark.
DEKRA Visatec, a specialist in visual inspection systems and non-destructive testing, expanded into Oceania. Together with Nexxis in Australia, this supported the raw material, oil & gas, chemical, and power plant sectors with automated and robotized inspection systems.
DEKRA celebrated a national success story: 30 years ago, DEKRA e.V. Dresden was contracted by the first freely elected government of the GDR to set up a technical test center for East Germany. It had already tested its first vehicle by October 1990.
DEKRA expanded the business area of cyber security to include the testing of IoT (Internet of Things) devices in accordance with the ioXt Alliance standard. The alliance is a combination of manufacturers, professional associations, and institutions who want to improve the security of IoT devices.
DEKRA was contracted by the Mexican federal state of Jalisco to set up and run six exhaust gas testing stations with 42 test lanes in Guadalajara. The goal is to reduce the air pollution caused by traffic. The first station started operations in February 2021.
The Movon Corporation located in South Korea sold its carved-out testing laboratories, which are equipped for measuring electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and for testing radio frequency (RF), to DEKRA. EMC and RF wireless tests are a key competency when it comes to securely networked, automated, and electric driving.
Six professional soccer clubs have taken part in the “sustainClub” sustainability certification from DEKRA, namely: VfL Wolfsburg, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, FC St. Pauli, SC Paderborn 07, SV Werder Bremen, and VfB Stuttgart. DEKRA developed the “sustainClub” standard together with the Swiss organization sustainable///sports.
The DEKRA Vision Zero Award went to the city of Siero in Asturias, Spain. With this award, DEKRA honored the city’s achievement of zero traffic fatalities in eleven consecutive years from 2009 to 2019.
DEKRA is now also a Notified Body for acoustic examinations of machines and devices in accordance with Outdoor Noise Directive 2000/14/EC. This rounds off our previous service portfolio for noise measurements in accordance with Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
